Ice Storm Repair for Trees
Unfortunately trees do in fact suffer severe damage during ice storms in the wintertime. One of the biggest problems we have identified are inexperienced companies that are hired by consumers to prune their trees often “off-season.” This means pruning during the dead of winter!
When tree companies we prune, we are actively making selections of limbs to cut. When these limbs are cut, new wounds are created. These wounds need to heal otherwise they will attract pests, disease and eventually succumb to either.
We recommend pruning limbs or branches in the springtime because this is the main growth season. Your tree will be able to respond to these wounds by healing far quicker than it would in the wintertime.
